Harriet Schatz, LMFT
I believe that therapy is a gift that a person can give themselves. It is a journey that enables a person to join with me to figure out what may be getting in the way of living their best life. Each of us have wounds that can be examined. As I accompany my clients, we find ways of holding their life story in a way that enables their continued growth and builds on their resiliency to create a life that is not about suffering but about living more fully. Starting therapy takes courage. I work collaboratively---I don't hold the answers but I am honored and privileged to look for their answers with them. I bring to the table more than 60 years of life experience as well as 25 years of working in this field. I believe that each of us deserves to live our best life and I believe that working with me, as a caring and well-trained therapist, people come to new places of self-acceptance, forgiveness, self-awareness, resiliency and can go on to realize more of their hopes and dreams. I work with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families in a collabortive way. Sharing what I have learned along the way from my life experience and the training I have had, I am able to lend an objective and therapeutic perspective in a sensitive, respectful way. I have been trained in EMDR which can be helpful to people who have experienced trauma and I can use this process with clients if circumstances warrant this type of intervention. |
